Boyd van Hoeij Hollywood Reporter A short and factually skimpy (and occasionally flat-out wrong) greatest-hits tour of the gargantuan collection of the Musei Vaticani. Dec 9, 2014 Full Review Andrew Pulver Guardian Event cinema ought to be better than this. Nov 13, 2014 Full Review Karen Krizanovich The List Certainly, we'd all like to touch, sniff and lick great art and this gives us the opportunity to get up close and personal without getting arrested. Rated: 3/5 Nov 17, 2014 Full Review Katherine Monk Canada.com The Vatican Museums 3D is the perfect primer for anyone on the verge of a Vatican visit. It's also going to give the viewer a much better angle on the actual pieces. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 2, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I added this to my 3-d collection only when i found it for a good price; produced by the vatican itself it's a light-weight cover of only a few of the treasures the Musei Vaticani encompasses. Generally, the 3-d works [as does the stunning hd photography] but the artwork is pretty skimpy. MOst startling are the 3-d renderings of several famous paintings, including davinci's "st. jerome", Raphael's "Academy of Athens" and of course, the sistine chapel ceiling. but it's the closeups of the hands in the ceiling's "creation of Man" segment that also disappoints the most... they tried too hard to improve upon a timeless classic! overall a classy presentation that would've been better without the unnecessary allegory. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This was such a waste of time and money. Having been to the Vatican Museum, I can say that you will see about 1% of it. It was really pitiful. At least half of the time is devoted to the very lengthy talks from the director of the Museum. Then there are the really odd and disruptive images of sand, water, clay, representations of Michelangelo and Raphael. Could hardly wait until it ended. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Wonderful display of some of histories greatest art, but could do without the cliche directorial add-ins. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing! I expected a documentary similar to a guided tour of the museums. But what this film provides is a lot of trivial narration, juvenile special effects and only a smattering of the actual artworks. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Beyond a disappointment. If you like hour long commercials that repeat the same images again and again like a bad reality tv show, this one's for you. Could have been 15 minutes long with a sprinkling of actual content about Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and the Pieta. Hence, a single star. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointed. Obviously made for an American audience with a short attention span, would rather have heard the man speaking Italian with subtitles instead of being dubbed by an American. Too much Arty farty shots of water, dust and a moody actor but when showing the art itself, was informative and interesting. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
