Namir is a French filmmaker of Egyptian origin. One day he watches a videotape of the Virgin Mary's apparition in Egypt with his mother who, like millions of other Copts, (Egypt's Christians) sees the Virgin on the screen while he sees nothing. Skeptical about the videotape, Namir travels back to Egypt, to make a film about the bizarre occurrence of these apparitions.

Audience Member A touching comedy, which under the appearance of amateurism says more than it seems on a small community of Egypt and the Copts in general and on the tender attachment of a young emigrant to his family and his cultural origins. I have found particularly moving the casting for the role of the Virgin ... The whole sounds very authentic, without any heaviness or excessive pathos. It is a beautiful and poignant testimony on the eve of the Revolution which proves that one needs more intelligence and sensitivity than a big budget to make a good movie...
