The script keeps things streamlined. There is a steady escalation leading to some graphic scenes of violence. There are lots of reveals in a short period of time – one of which is particularly disgusting – but the entire watch is an entertaining one.

The Visitor is a very interesting movie with a spin on the usual trope where a wife is typically brought into a strange environment and soon learns that an eerie cult-like community dynamic is attached to her perceived dream relationship and moving into a home she thinks will serve as her happily ever after - only to discover that things aren't quite what they seem. A comparable film to The Wicker Man in the aspect of drawing a male into the community in order to procreate, it is different in the approach to the MMC's importance in the bloodline structure and how that correlates to his new wife was unique and I appreciated that. It's a bit slow at first, and yet instantly weird with the way the opening to the movie introduces each character but the way it ends is probably the weirdest part considering that nothing culminated quite like I anticipated it would and that was both a welcome experience and a bit of a shock. I'd recommend it to fans of movies like Rosemary's Baby, The Wicker Man and End of Days.

The characters are unlikable, the movie is incredibly slow, it's really boring overall, it's like if Seinfeld was a horror movie. By that I mean it's a movie where nothing happens, there are no scares, and it's boring throughout.
