During the American Civil War, two soldiers, one fighting for the North, one for the South, are stranded in the Sonoran Desert after a battle near Tucson. They must learn to survive together and face the dangers of the elements, unrelenting thirst, Apaches, each other's beliefs and bigotries, and ultimately, their own inner demons. Their fight for survival takes some surprising turns, and their story becomes a timeless parable about what unites us and divides us even to the present day.
