During the American Civil War, two soldiers, one fighting for the North, one for the South, are stranded in the Sonoran Desert after a battle near Tucson. They must learn to survive together and face the dangers of the elements, unrelenting thirst, Apaches, each other's beliefs and bigotries, and ultimately, their own inner demons. Their fight for survival takes some surprising turns, and their story becomes a timeless parable about what unites us and divides us even to the present day.

Yungul's dialogue sparks more than simply easy conflicts or unconvincing redemptions. Yungul builds these relationships and creates a tapestry of trust and mistrust, old tapes and new experiences.

It may not break the wheel but it sure spins it. Watch The War Between for its beautiful landscapes, the emotional journey on screen and to appreciate the talented female eye in an overtly male genre.

This is a wonderful film! A true independent film that feels big budget. I enjoyed the thoughtful storytelling and the expansive cinematography. Have watched it twice already. Highly recommend!

I recommend The War Between to everyone who is reading this review. The film is beautifully directed by Deborah Correa and the cinematography by Evan Jake Cohen is impeccably gorgeous. This Civil War historical drama set in Arizona in the year 1862, draws you in from the moment the film begins. Damian Conrad-Davis, Sam Bullington, Essa O’Shea and Wayne Charles Baker captivate you with their talent! The War Between was made for the big screen with the vast and breathtaking Arizona landscapes. It is a piece of independent cinema that you have not seen before!
