Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review rob r Excellent documentary, brings the audience behind the curtain of the world of whisky! So beautifully filmed, with care and regard to the historical path of certain individuals in the Islay region of Scotland. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Fabio C One of the best movies of the spirits business! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/22 Full Review keith d Since my first viewing of the Water of Life - A Whisky Film back in January 2021 during an online screening and tasting, I fell in love with the film and those who are behind it. I have now watched the film countless times and there is always something new that I notice. The story of the film follows the past and present of Scotch whisky and it's resurgence over the past decade. Central to the movie is the story of the rebirth of the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay, a small island off the west coast of Scotland, famed for it's whisky. However, the film is far more than "another whisky movie" and is much more about people. About the passion they have, about the hard work and toil involved in getting whisky from field to glass and the friendships and bonds they form with people all over the world who share their love of the "Uisge Beatha", water of life. Even if you aren't a whisky fan this is a great watch but, if you are, settle back with a dram or two and enjoy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review samantha h We were lucky enough to have the producer with us while watching and it was followed by an amazing whisky tasting. I loved everything about this movie. It does not idolize the whisky work way, it shows the struggles they faced reviving the whole branch and included the struggles they face nowadays that whisky is back on top of the drinks-ladder. The filming, the story-telling and everything else is so well combined. It is worth every minute you spend watching it. ❤️ Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
