When an aging Wild Bill Hickok (Charles Bronson) finds his dreams invaded by the image of a rampaging white buffalo, he decides the only remedy is to find and kill the creature. With the help of his old friend Charlie (Jack Warden), he sets out across the snowy plains, unaware that he's not the only one looking for the fabled beast. Sioux Chief Crazy Horse (Will Sampson) has recently lost a daughter to the white buffalo, and he fears the girl's soul won't rest until he kills it.

This movie was a lot of fun for a 10 year old me watching in the theater. and a 15 year old me on HBO or showtime, I will still give it a watch now and then if its on one of the non commercial interruptions streaming service, an extremely well acted rewatchable story.

Some entertaining action and intriguing interaction between Hickok and Chief Crazy Horse, stripped of his title and given the name Worm until he can claim vengeance against a horrible beast that ravaged his people and also continues to haunt Hickok in his sleep. This shared foe brings together two enemies, at least temporarily.

A mythic movie (not in fact) in which the White Buffalo is rarely seen and that magnified the impact of it as a Monster. The movies suggests a sort of personal mystic journey into facing and slaying our fears.
