Sean Gilman The Chinese Cinema It’s all big and loud and orange, and if you squint here or there you can see signs of the old Herman Yau. Nov 11, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix The White Storm 3: Heaven or Hell is a sloppily edited mess that jumps around too much in the story's non-chronological timeline. This substandard action movie also does nothing new or interesting with a plot about undercover cops and drug dealers. Jul 27, 2023 Full Review Edmund Lee South China Morning Post The film proves far more interesting when viewed as an epic about the drug trade set in an exotic foreign milieu than as an undercover-police drama that traces the limits of deception. Rated: 3/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Casey Chong Fiction Horizon A familiar but visceral and entertaining action thriller. Rated: 6/10 Jul 19, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Ed S A great action movie. High octane action scenes with top notch castings (Sean Yau, Aaron Kwok and Louis Koo and Yang Caiyu). Sean Yau is top notch as the leader of the drug lord. While Aaron Kwok could tune down his too stylish clothing, he delivered all the emotional scenes with Yang Caiyu with conviction. Louis Koo firm as the undercover turn into best friend to save Aaron. The highlight is how director Herman Yau set up the very real opium planting and processing village. This is an eye opening to me to get all the details of this kind of village. Also the director wonderfully captures the beautiful blossoming opium plant. Such a deadly substance yet got a very beautiful flower. Amazing action scenes throughout the movie but the last showdown is the best of the best punctual with the very emotional scene when Noon while trying to run for safety but got killed by the bomb unloaded from the jet fighter while Aaron watching it happened. Such an emotional scene to watch your loved one die infront of you. Bravo Bravo Bravo. This is better than so many hollywood blockbusters like Fast and Fury franchise Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review Ayaya 1 It is an interesting take on the undercover genre. In recent years, a few Hong Kong crime movies have always ended up in Thailand or Myanmar. I think it is a little overdone, but knowing how the area is infamous for these crimes is not a big deal. The movie is great and shows a very unique dynamic between the characters. This movie being the highest Hong Kong movie budget in history can be shown in the action scenes and props. All the 3 main actors did very well at their role. It is as Hong Kong as it gets. It also gets a little philosophical towards the end which is something I like. Very good movie.
