Kai H This is a shokingly underrated (and rated low) movie. Just the for premise itself, along with the emotional core of the story, does deserve a watch. The hole itself, as in the opening narration, is a good metaphor for truth - some people cannot unsee it, some people pretend it is not there... The script stumbles around a little in some places, with some filler content that would not need to be in a movie like this, and the ending itself is a little too drawn out, but with a few tweaks this still makes for a very good creepy and heartwrenching watch. If you enjoy Sixth Sense and/or The Visit, you will like this one. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/05/25 Full Review Justin T This is not a good film with almost no redeeming features. It is filled with dreadful melodrama and looks like a cheap soap opera. The lighting is so flat and boring. It is way, way longer that it should be, what made them think that this should be over two hours? The acting is pretty awful, made worse by really awkward blocking. It takes a long time to give you the smallest details that you probably already figured out. There are so many bad directorial choices like staring at a hole that they don’t see, you don’t stare at something you can’t see. The children look old enough to look after themselves. It took them 45 minutes to realise it’s night next door and it’s day where they are. They don’t mention that they have the lights on during the day and the neighbours don't have their lights on at night. He’s a retired detective and only now he’s experiencing a criminal that didn't get the justice they deserved? The detective melodrama adds nothing to the film, this is just a feature length soap opera with horror elements. At best it should have been a 30 minute segment in an anthology. For the record alcohol doesn’t burn like gasoline. I hate the music and the constant elongated exposition treats the viewer like an idiot. If you must watch this film then help yourself and push that 1.5x button right at the start. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/25/25 Full Review Hshz S So bad Actors and story is so bad Boring Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Audience Member what is this. I expect more Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/17/24 Full Review Jayson L The movie had a really bad story, there was no meaning for the hole to just appear as it did. Story proceeded way too quickly and it just wasn't scary. Was laughing the "hole" way trough it Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/23 Full Review Audience Member It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t memorable either. This movie was plugged as a horror movie, but I considered it more of a suspense/drama. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
