They might've made this movie because they got a good deal on the yacht, but nevertheless they've built a fairly effective thriller. Go to Full Review

I couldn’t help noticing how quickly the script sprung a leak,...never to recover despite the yeoman efforts of star Keira Knightley to serve as a port in a storm of clichés. Go to Full Review

The first half tends to drag, while the payoff conclusion seems rushed and predictable. Still, 'The Woman in Cabin 10' has its moments—nail biting as they are. Go to Full Review

This boat-based tale is a slightly uneasy mix of Agatha Christie-style crime-solving and modern-day psychological thriller. Go to Full Review

Aimery d @Travelstar 1d Contrived story lines with pot holes the size of the universe. Sadly that is 1 1/2 hours of my life I won’t get back. A real shame as it has a decent cast, however the plot lines are very poor and I feel sorry for the cast having to read their pathetic lines. I see some saying the book was decent, however I just can’t see it. The yacht was interesting to see, but really that is the only other plus on all of this. TDLR: a total disappointment. Don’t waste your time. See more Madeleine F @Madeleine852 1d I feel like *I'm* being gaslit by all the bad reviews. In a sea of trashy Netflix Original disaster movies, this film is a standout that reminded us of Agatha Christie as well as classic movies of the '90s, back when satisfying conclusions were the norm. And yes, a great performance by Keira. We laughed at the unrealistic newsroom dialogue (a minimal component) because we're journalists... but then, newsroom dialogue in movies and TV shows is pretty much always silly (hello, unbelievably trashy Morning Show, which somehow earns rave reviews). Highly recommend – and I would add, particularly if you're someone who enjoys not being continuously terrified during a thriller-mystery. Heart racing from start to finish, no; thoroughly entertained, yes. (Addendum: I do feel for the people who hate the film because the book is so much better. A common enough problem, and one I experienced keenly with Outlander.) See more Marko H @MarkoHorngacher 3d The worst part is - I could see how great the book must have been. All the elements of a great psychological thriller are present, but feel like glued together by an 8 year old, or like in this case - by a director that either did not have enough money, time oder just did not understand the book. See more L. F 4d It's not without its flaws and most of the supporting cast felt unnecessary, but it was an easy watch and kept me entertained. See more Pascale A @Elacsap Dec 29 Whilst the plot may not be the most original, nonetheless the film carries the general tension throughout, and I did find myself rooting for Keira Knightley's character. If I had any criticism, it is that the end of the film feels rushed. It does feel as if the superyacht was really playing the title role but nonetheless I still think it is worth watching. N.B For any people who recently watched The War between the Land and the Sea, there is a further chance to see Gugu Mbatha-Raw See more S K @SeanK Dec 27 Boring with some average acting from a lot of unlikeable characters.
