In the comedy The Wonder Weeks we meet three couples. First, we meet the successful career-oriented Anne (Sallie Harmsen), who realizes after her maternity leave that life changes a lot with a baby. This puts a strain on her relationship with her husband Barry (Soy Kroon). She joins the Mama for Mamas club, a society for mothers founded by Kim (Katja Schuurman). Kim is married to Roos (Sarah Chronis), and together they are raising two children they had with the help of their good friend Kaj (Louis Talpa). However, things are not going very smoothly for them. Ilse (Yolanthe Cabau) and her husband Sabri (Ilias Ojja) also have their challenges. They struggle with how to raise their child as they come from different cultures. This creates friction within their relationship, especially when Sabri's mother moves in with them to help.

What could have been a light romcom is actually a terrible movie. Not only is it uninteresting in its stories, very slow and only has poorly developed characters, it shows a very unrealistic and very depressing view of relationships. That this movie was made was such a waste of time and money. We stopped watching half way. It's so bad that I actually made an account to write a review...

if you like babies crying and parenting issues, well, this movie is exactly for you. Sallie Harmsen performance aside, the movie is not even good to be seen just with one eye and one ear, while doing some other meaningful chores. Dutch productions are sometimes notable, but specifically in the drama/thriller genre, I don't recall any decent family oriented movie, coming from that beautifully shaped Country. is so not belonging to any particular genre that even Netflix, categorized it like just 'Dutch'.
