The Yellow Birds doesn't say much of anything outside of the mundane. The trio of young men at its center are compelling enough, but the entire ordeal feels like a mash-up of countless other movies.

I thought it was an engaging movie with good acting and storyline. It was sad though. Tye Sheridan was really outstanding in this. It's worth the watch.

Better than its rating, such a shame more wasn’t done with Toni Collette and Jennifer Anniston, perhaps it was, as this was a movie that so much more could have been done with the story, but wasn’t.

While this movie had an honest take on war, the plot just never got much going except the horrors of war. Two buddies are together from boot camp on in to Syria. The acting is acceptable, but the film never says anything new or engaging.

Why would Jennifer Aniston do this movie? The story is weak and even with the really good cast. They couldn't save it. Once it's over. All I could say is. I want my time back.
