In the Korean War, three captured U.S. soldiers break out of their prison camp. With the enemy in hot pursuit, Peter L. Kane (William Bendix), Ed Brent (Rory Calhoun) and Kirk Wilson must reach American territory if they plan on surviving. Aid comes from a Korean family that takes in the fleeing servicemen. The communists, however, kill the family for their kindness, and only the son survives. Feeling responsible, the soldiers bring the boy and his dog along on their dangerous journey.
