Trevor Johnston Radio Times Theirs Is the Glory stands as one of the major British war films of its period, celebrating a daring mission which ended in heroic failure. Rated: 4/5 Sep 29, 2022 Full Review Josephine O'Neill Daily Telegraph (Australia) It is almost impossible to believe that this fine and grim film is not an actual flaring record of battle. Stanislaus K Loved the film. Was very moving and I couldn't believe that the people on screen were the paras who fought at Arnhem playing themselves Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprising good film. Staring the real guys who fought this battle only a couple years earlier. Hard to believe its nor news reel footage. As a historian, I love this stuff. Made very well. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member I had never heard of the film before I watched it. I found it an intense and gripping film, not only shot with actual footage (a lot of it), but also 200 veterans from the actual battle itself. It's been added to my list of all time favourite films. NB For Rotten Tomatoes, the film is about the British effort taking Arnhem Bridge, not the American. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member its clearly got value as a recreation of the events shortly after it occurred but i'm sure a standard documentary would have made much more sense and be more watchable. As it is i struggled to finish watching this. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent docudrama from 1945 filmed using many of the real locations and actual veterans of the British 1st Airborne Division's assault on Arnhem. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting war movie just shot after WWII. Its old, its black and white but it is definatly better and more authentic than 'a bridge too far' Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
