It extremely effective in making the audience feel all kinds of things. It makes you fear the danger of a character disappear due to Thelma's ability and for what her parents would be capable of doing to stop her. To not know what is happening and the religious homofobia from her parents only increase the tension and the thrill. The dramatic aspect here is brutal and guilty is present. The characters are deep and have layers. At first, I thought it was just an uncreative sobrenatural horror, I was wrong

Very good movie. For those that like fast pace and action, this is not for you. However, the plot payoff is worth it if you can sit through this slow burner of a movie. Is reminiscent of the old 1970s movie Carrie without all the high school stuff but modernized.
