Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut Car chases, blood, romance and action. Can't go wrong with this entertaining vampire throwback. Rated: 3/5 Feb 13, 2021 Full Review Ryan Larson Ghastly Grinning It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but There's No Such Thing As Vampires presents some interesting ideas. It's when it highlights the creature or the road movie tropes that it succeeds but loses its footing in between. Sep 9, 2020 Full Review Martyn Conterio CineVue There's No Such Thing as Vampires is an admirable if flawed attempt at sustained suspense and nail-biting tension. Rated: 2/5 Sep 4, 2020 Full Review Martin Unsworth Starburst Unfortunately, once the cat and mouse chases come to an end, the story descends into the silliness of its own mythology. It's above-par silliness, at least. Rated: 3/5 Sep 4, 2020 Full Review Terry Mesnard Gayly Dreadful A film that aggressively attempts to upend some genre status quos and while it gets a bit tripped up with a ... saggy middle section, it mostly comes together as a fun ... amiable horror-comedy... Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 31, 2020 Full Review Kat Hughes THN Easily one of the best film scores in years drives this desert-set, blistering chase, road movie tale that reaffirms vampires as monsters to fear. Garth R It's like an awesome spooky campfire story. Maximum effort on a low-budget. The actors are hot AND really dedicated to their craft. What else? Oh yeah: seriously tight camera work; smart unpretentious script (restrained-right-to-the-edge-of-camp), but best of all -- the synth-based sound track features~~~ NINA (nee Boldt) !!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Paul S It's not worth renting, wait for it to be free. Even then, I still can't recommend it. I can't believe it has such a high rating.
