Critics Consensus

A likable cast and strong set pieces give There's Someone Inside Your House a lift, but they're outweighed by its messily misguided story.

Wenlei Ma News.com.au All its failings could be semi-forgiven if There's Someone Inside Your House did the one thing that was promised on the box - be frightening. Rated: 1/5 Nov 2, 2021 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian ...well-made, well-acted and should keep couch-bound sleuths guessing until the end... Oct 15, 2021 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Polygon There's Someone Inside Your House is intermittently effective, but ultimately unremarkable, and it feels like a product of its time in disappointing ways. Oct 9, 2021 Full Review Paul Lê Tales from the Paulside While it is easy to compare this to the admittedly more unique slashers before it, There’s Someone Inside Your House at the very least does everything on its own terms. It is not capitalizing on nostalgia or trapped in the past. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 23, 2023 Full Review Nuha Hassan Hear Us Scream There’s Someone Inside Your House is not meant to be a parody of slasher films, but it does not have any entertaining elements. Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies It’s slasher formula 101 – introduce the killer’s fodder (most often a group of insufferable teens) and then slice them, carve them, chop them, and impale them one by one. That’s this movie in a nutshell. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 17, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Waniya S The gore was good, it wasn’t extreme but still it was good. And the romance 🤭🤭🤭 also if there’s someone in your house RUN OUTSIDE 🤦‍♀️ Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review Kacper O I love this movie and good gore Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review Ben E We ate pizza too!!! Grabbed by the first second it was very relatable but by scene 3 my friend got got a little bit excited and exploded into a song about someone inside my house . It was scary!!!! Should I say ?? Mega scary . Oh dare it say it . Oh yes I did. I went there. Tehee. But on a real I’m not even being funny this film was mega good , if you don’t mind the occasional oopsie daisy Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Peter G Sydney Park was too good of a lead for quality of this… Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/15/25 Full Review Taylor M SPOILER WARNING: Definitely would not recommend this watch, I read the book before watching the movie and (the book) was absolutely amazing but the movie lacked in pretty much every aspect. There was poor acting, poorly written murders, also didn’t try to match any of the characters to the descriptions written in the book (I know this is not always easy but it’s like the only character they tried to match with the book was Makani). Also they added the part where Ollie did a background check making him seem like a bad guy when she revealed this later on in the book. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/09/25 Full Review Mark B This is a bad movie. The writing is poor, as is the acting. The story is makes little sense. A movie filled with no likable characters.
