Matthew R Terrible acting. Terrible story. Terrible effects. It is trying to hard to be a cult classic when it fails to entertain any idea of satire or comedy. The writing is bad. And there isn't even gory. It's a Christmas vacation meets Krampus. Does nothing but copy other films terribly. Do not waste your time. If try hard with bad writing was a movie with a $100 budget. Steer clear Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Jonathan It's giving 80's horror/comedy and I'm totally here for it. It knew exactly what it was, a low budget good time and it delivered. I wouldn't mind seeing a second installment. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review William H. B It's a fun holiday not so scary, scary movie. Actually better than expected. The Dad was such a doormat that I found him irritating, but it's a good enough movie to watch once a year during the holidays if you take it at face value. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Taylor All I know is the makers of this movie must have sent a HUGE amount of money to rotten tomatoes to achieve an 80%. This movie was beyond dumb, horrible effects, and not one ounce of a story. I like to look movies up before watching them and for the most part, rotten tomatoes is pretty accurate or at least close. I threw up in my mouth a bit when I realize the whole movie was as bad as the first 10 minutes. But my faith in the score made me sit through the whole movie. Please, please do not make the same mistake I did. Live your life, survive 2 hours longer than I will without having wasted it sitting in front of a screen watching this vomit on screen. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Michael P Unrealistic fun... It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either... And that's what makes it kind of great... if that makes sense Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review daryl m If horror comedies is your niche this is a must see. Kevin Maher Times (UK) Little-people horrors have worked before — Don’t Look Now, Orphan — but this is toothless. Rated: 2/5 Dec 1, 2023 Full Review Cath Clarke Guardian For the first few minutes I thought it was a kids’ film, which gives you an inkling as to the general approach – right up until a teenager dropped the f-word. Rated: 2/5 Nov 28, 2023 Full Review Jose Solís Common Sense Media Combining elements of horror, dark comedy, and satire, "There's Something in the Barn" has the potential to become a new holiday season cult classic. Rated: 4/5 Mar 27, 2024 Full Review Drew Tinnin Dread Central Depending on your particular penchant for Yuletide horror, Magnus Martens’ There’s Something in the Barn is a serviceable blend of horror and comedy that doesn’t do any favors for the elf community at large. Feb 17, 2024 Full Review Dulcie Pearce The Sun (UK) More satire and less seasonal slaughter would have greatly improved the unbalanced pace of this holiday horror. But Henrietta Steenstrup as the deadpan Politi officer is a treat throughout.
