The worst thing about both films is the fact that the bulk of them feature people in rooms, talking and talking. Go to Full Review

@Blobbo 05/05/2020 Life too short, no waste brain here. See more 03/29/2020 Great vintage late night b- movie for a laugh it's all fun science fiction film noir See more 03/28/2020 Gives pickling a bad name. This is the kind of movie to show freshman film students what not to do. See more 12/01/2013 It sounds interesting, but goes nowhere near what it should be. It turns out slow, dull, and lacking. The plot isn't great, the characters are stale, and the ending is mediocre. Shame, it honestly sounded like it could of been a lot of fun. See more 10/29/2013 Same as Madmen of Mandoras See more 11/13/2012 I AM THE ALMIGHTY ALL-POWERFUL AND ALL-MASOCHISTIC OVERLORD OF BAD CINEMA. But who's gonna save MY brain? You go into an experience like this as prepared as you can possibly be. You know, for instance, that the film was shelved at one point, for years. So filming stopped some point in the 50s and resumed in the 60s. Unless I'm mistaken the 60s footage involved absolutely none of the original cast. Hey! You got your 60s movie in my 50s movie! Hey! YOU got your 50s movie in my 60s movie! "Two chunks of dreck that make one big chunk of dreck together, 'They Saved Hitler's Brain.'" ? The 60s portion is at the opening of the film and is over with relatively early in. This is a blessing, as it is the enamel-grinding portion of the movie in terms of being painful to watch in that 'good/bad movie' kind of way - the acting is so stiff, it could be mistaken for rigor mortis, the audio seems to have been recorded with a telephone... that kinda thing. And the music. Oh, man. Endless noodling on a keyboard. It's not an 8-track. It's a musical Möbius strip. When the 50s portion kicks in, ahhh, then we're in business. We finally get to see Hitler's brain. Except we don't. Par for the course with horror films of this type (yes, there's more than one of these plot lines floating around in jars out there), we get a bonus - not only did they save the brain, but the head as well! (See also: The Brain That Wouldn't Die) For me, the biggest laughs in the film, by far, stem from the fact that Hitler's head resembles Kevin MacDonald (of Kids In The Hall). Kevin MacDonald's head in a jar, with a really bad Hitler Wig And Mustache Set, never speaking, just occasionally moving his lips and REALLY mugging it up for the camera. REEEEEEEEEEEALLLLLLLLY. However, very late in the film, Nestor Paiva, bless his heart, delivers a line that definitely merits staying 'til the end. BIG laugh, there. So now I can say I've seen They Saved Hitler's Brain. It's a bittersweet moment for me. Once you've climbed Everest, the only place to go is down. [ROLL CREDITS] See more Read all reviews
