Jason (Terry Chen) and his wife, Sarah (Jaime King), leave their adopted home of Shanghai and travel to Vancouver, British Columbia, for his uncle's funeral, staying with his Aunt Mei (Pei-pei Cheng). Already disoriented, Jason and Sarah are unnerved when their son, Sam (Regan Oey), begins seeing ghosts and violent deaths. After Sam is hospitalized, Sarah consults with a pharmacist (Henry O) who's well-informed about Chinese mythology and who tells her that supernatural forces threaten her son.

The acting is really bad, it's not the least bit scary and the story isn't interesting. See more 06/15/2018 This movie starts out pretty good,with some effective creepy moments, but unfortunately devolves into a predictable and cliched story, where the acting becomes, well, just very lame. The young boy who plays the role of Sam is pretty good, but other than him, the rest just kind of muddle along. I should have guessed when I saw that Uwe Boul was one of the executice producers.
