Joe Leydon Variety Director Ernie Barbarash makes judicious use of CGI trickery -- in one key scene, he cleverly shocks his audience into laughing -- but at heart, he's an old-school traditionalist when it comes to scary stuff. May 1, 2008 Full Review Susan Walker Toronto Star There are elements of a good fright flick and intriguing ghost story in They Wait. It's too bad that they are overshadowed by all the bad aspects " terrible dialogue and cheesy special effects and makeup. Rated: 2/4 Jan 25, 2008 Full Review Jason Anderson Globe and Mail Initially promising for its attempt to situate Asian supernatural motifs within a North American context, They Wait is itself too derivative of its own movie ancestors to yield fresh scares. Rated: 2/4 Jan 25, 2008 Full Review Jim Slotek Jam! Movies The plot pieces all fit together nicely, the acting is fair and the scary stuff is well executed. Jan 25, 2008 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a tedious and downright silly piece of work. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 24, 2007 Full Review Read all reviews

It is during then is when a troubled pass is exposed once the son becomes somewhat possessed. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member cheesy but some jump scares... watchable if not forgettable Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/19/19 Full Review Audience Member Just terrible. Can't believe 40% of the people gave this a fresh rating. The acting is really bad, it's not the least bit scary and the story isn't interesting. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie starts out pretty good, with some effective creepy moments, but unfortunately devolves into a predictable and cliched story, where the acting becomes, well, just very lame. The young boy who plays the role of Sam is pretty good, but other than him, the rest just kind of muddle along. I should have guessed when I saw that Uwe Boul was one of the executice producers. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/15/18 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this movie more than I thought! It reminded me of the Grudge in a way. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member es la de los chinos desgraciados matando ositos. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
