Steve D Thin yes, but fun. Henie isn't bad though they keep trying to focus on anyone but her in her films. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/14/23 Full Review Audience Member too bad she didn't fall through the ice! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I just watched this and felt compelled to make a short review of it. Not as if it's something I think you should watch, but because I wanted to make a review of a Sonia Henie-movie. For the 99.9% of you who don't know who Sonia Henie was (I don't blame you), you can sort of say that she was a norwegian Esther Williams, but on ice! Not much of an actress perhaps, but she starred in several movies with Tyrone Power, back in the days. The plot in those movies is just about as corny as you could expect, but the ice skating choreographies is pretty cool, actually. But you have to keep in mind that the ice skating art was not far as developed in the 1930s as now. So don't expect Nancy Kerrigan, when you're searching for clips of Sonia on youtube. But Sonia was still in her time an olympic champion. In this movie Miss Henie, plays a ski instructor in the Alpes, where she meets a handsome man (Tyrone Power) who is trying to learn skiing. What she doesn't know is the fact that the man is prince (by profession, that is:). As you've already guessed by now, they slowly fall in love in each other. No reason why you should purchase this movie, unless you are a classics geek. But now you know who Sonia were, and she is probably smiling her best "dimple-smile" at you in heaven while you read this review:) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member So sweet and classic.
