Alan Ng Film Threat With humor, heart, and a dash of campy charm, writer/director Talisman delivers a relatable LGBTQ+ love story that leans into the rom-com formula while bringing something honest and personal to the screen. Rated: 6.5/10 Jun 9, 2025 Full Review Lisa Johnson Mandell AtHomeInHollywood.com This isn’t just a “feel-good” movie—it’s a celebration of queer love that refuses to apologize for existing. In a media landscape still lacking meaningful LGBTQ+ representation, director Max Talisman has created something both necessary and entertaining. May 28, 2025 Full Review John Paul King Washington Blade After all, it’s as much a “feel-good” movie as it is a love story, and the fact that we actually do feel good when the final credits role is more than enough to earn it our hearty recommendation. May 23, 2025 Full Review Rubén Rosario MiamiArtZine Talisman is an engaging figure in front of the camera, but behind it, he still has a long way to go. He doesn't make us believe Zack and Zack's grounded yet hopeful fairy tale, May 21, 2025 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Things Like This mixes cuteness and awkwardness in this romantic comedy/drama that uses stereotypical formulas but has realistic characters. The movie needed more finesse in acting and dialogue, but it's generally charming. May 19, 2025 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall Actor-filmmaker Max Talisman fills the screen with bright colours and sharply well-written dialog that's delivered in an enjoyably off-the-cuff way. Martin S Silly movie! Horrible continuity. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/10/25 Full Review zaxe Wonderful story and screenplay. Something for so many of us who doubt our worthiness to be truly loved and to fight love. To let it in when it does find us and not blow it all up because don’t think we deserve it. Cannot wait to be able to add this one to my personal library. Indie film that absolutely deserves to be everywhere on the big screen. Massive thanks to the backers of this wonderful and delightful film! In today’s world, we need so many more of these. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/29/25 Full Review Zamna Poorly written.
