Ted B 3.0 stars; The story of two addicts. One addicted to drugs and one addicted to grief. The road to recovery is filled with heartbreak and disappointment for both. The plot was a little too cliche and day-to-day, which tended to make boring. However, the exceptional acting of Halle Berry and Benecio Del Toro raised it to a level of audience participation in the life of the characters. This was a Love story, just not a romantic kind. Things lost in a fire can be replaced, but people can't be .... what an interesting way to demonstrate this. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/02/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie deserves a higher rating from the "professional" critics. Great story, great actors, great performances by all. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Ignore the shallow reviews of the American critics here who can't deal with really good filmmaking without cute punchlines or patriotic music. This film is a real gem that should not be missed and cherished long afterwards because we all got something to lose no matter where we are in our lives and the most important thing is to keep appreciating what we have before its gone and feel empathy for those around us who are struggling in ways we might not yet understand. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review scott m Story about a widow whose husband is murdered and she finds solace by befriending her husbands best friend who happens to be a drug addict. The story isn't much and isn't complicated at all. I really enjoyed Del Toro's acting. Halle Barry isn't bad. Better than she usually does. It's not a love story. It's part drug addiction, part dealing with death. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A fairly well-constructed plot, which unfolds gracefully. Del Toro and Berry are thoroughly human and believable characters who share a symbiotic road to recovery. Del Toro's character is complex, and part of the intrigue of this movie is the unravelling of his complexities, often in emotionally tense scenes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member The story does not hold up to the pace of the movie. Very long and slow with nothing really happening to draw you in further. Well acted for the most part but does also feel over acted as well, especially Halle Berry. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
