Chuck S Extremely underrated horror film that is undoubtedly a cult classic as the least … great flick and Shannon Elizabeth is still hot af Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review Sara P This movie has such a cool premise, and some really great plot twists. The DVD is even better because one of the special features tells you about each ghost and their past. It's not really a horror movie, more a thriller, but a GREAT flick all the same. Matthew Lillard is so underrated as a whole. And to the people complaining about the special effects…This movie is over 20 years old and didn't have a Star Wars level budget…I just rewatched it and it was every bit as great as back in the day. EXCELLENT MOVIE. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Melanie T I liked it, no matter what critics say! Critics don't know what they are looking for in a horror movie! I downvote all critics!! I don't care if they hate me, BOO CRITICS!!! If you want to know their backstories you have to go on YouTube to find it. It was a great stuck-in-a-haunted-house-movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/24 Full Review Camila R I watched this film many years ago and decided to rewatch it today. Well, it was scary when I was a child but today I just found it funny. It's not a bad film if you watch it believing it's a comedy. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/10/23 Full Review P. L A very underrated movie with a good plot and kills. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Joseph D I didn't even know this was a remake till years later, so my opinion has no bias. I enjoyed the practical effects, tolerated the CGI, loved the cast, & enjoyed the film overall. Crazy stuff like this gets overlooked all the time, & that's a dang shame. Nell Minow Common Sense Media Brutally violent horror remake is a huge waste. Rated: 2/5 Aug 26, 2010 Full Review William Thomas Empire Magazine Director Beck discards Castle's signature cheeky verve, saddling the film with a poor script rife with hilarious exposition, a literally painful sound design and uniformly bad acting. Rated: 2/5 Dec 30, 2006 Full Review Rick Groen Globe and Mail By any objective accounting, Thirteen Ghosts is exactly a baker's dozen too many -- this is a zero of a film. Rated: 0/4 Mar 22, 2002 Full Review Emilie Black JoBlo's Movie Network ... the most 2001 movie that ever 2001’d. Rated: 9/10 Sep 21, 2023 Full Review Cassondra Feltus Black Girl Nerds Yes, it’s schlocky with a clunky narrative, terrible ADR, and nonsensical editing. But for the early aughts, it’s an inventive film with top talent creating mind-blowing effects and designs. Rated: 3/5 Oct 28, 2022 Full Review Stephanie Archer Film Inquiry No this is not the best horror film, but it is definitely an enjoyable one, and Thirteen Ghosts is sure to have a little something for all horror fans to enjoy.
