This movie has such a cool premise, and some really great plot twists. The DVD is even better because one of the special features tells you about each ghost and their past. It's not really a horror movie, more a thriller, but a GREAT flick all the same. Matthew Lillard is so underrated as a whole. And to the people complaining about the special effects…This movie is over 20 years old and didn't have a Star Wars level budget…I just rewatched it and it was every bit as great as back in the day. EXCELLENT MOVIE.

I liked it, no matter what critics say! Critics don't know what they are looking for in a horror movie! I downvote all critics!! I don't care if they hate me, BOO CRITICS!!! If you want to know their backstories you have to go on YouTube to find it. It was a great stuck-in-a-haunted-house-movie.

I didn't even know this was a remake till years later, so my opinion has no bias. I enjoyed the practical effects, tolerated the CGI, loved the cast, & enjoyed the film overall. Crazy stuff like this gets overlooked all the time, & that's a dang shame.
