Amy Guay Washington City Paper Still, This Mountain Life feels like going to church, especially when the alpinists and artists who give the landscape voice are so eloquent, so philosophical about their communion. Logan D Documentary featuring denizens and visitors to the mountains of British Columbia. Wow! This film is worth viewing just for the scenery. I had no idea 75% of BC was mountains. I wish I had gone there when I was young. However, one of the characters in the storyline threaded throughout the film was 60 years old and hiked a 2K+ trail thru the Coast Mountains for 6 months so maybe there's hope for me. I didn't find all the interviews interesting but the views are epic. Highly recommended if you love such scenery. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Kevin F Loved it, incredible scenery, captivating characters (real life folks!), a bit disjointed perhaps but if you love the rugged mountains this is a documentary you don't want to miss! Kevin Feldman Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/07/23 Full Review Audience Member What an amazing and beautiful film about the connection between nature and the human nature of bonding, growth, and self-discovery. I feel fortunate to have found this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member What an adventure! I loved this movie. Very exciting, expansive, inspiring. It is a documentary about this brilliant mother and daughter, but it also gives you glimpses into the lives of all these other fascinating people. It was on my mind for a long time after I watched it. Really truly awe-inspiring, I'd even say spiritual. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A fantastic adventure movie! It makes we want to get outside. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A stunning documentary set in epic winter mountain landscapes of British Columbia and featuring the six-month trek by a mother-daughter duo and also featuring shorter vignettes about other mountain folks.
