Thunderbolts is easily one of the least exciting recent Marvel films—not out of dislike, just apathy. It’s a formulaic team-up with a mix of lesser-known characters, overloaded action, forced humor, and constant callbacks, leaving little room for meaningful character development or thematic depth. Lewis Pullman delivers a standout performance, but the rest of the cast largely flounders, with characters feeling underwritten or wasted. The movie’s tonal shifts are jarring, and attempts at humor mostly fall flat. Overall, it feels like a dated, uninspired entry, stuck in a formula the MCU has long outgrown.

I like the idea of the alternate title off brand Avengers but not as an insult. This is a fun, well done film. Funny, with heart and edge. It knows when to not take itself too seriously and then also handle serious topics.
