Thrives on the juxtaposition of Notaro's deadpan delivery and her dead-serious subject matter, and given that the whole enterprise manages to avoid feeling gimmicky at every build-up and punchline is a feat alone worthy of celebration.

Is it just me or does Tig look like Lucie Arnaz Jr.?? Anyway, I dunno about this stand-up act. Fifteen minutes in, and I barely let out a chuckle. Sorry, but I need more than that. She just seemed so drowsy and dozy and like no range in her voice whatsoever. Just…not entertaining at all.

She's the Muzak version of other comedians. She's probably the funny person at a party of non-comedians but not funny compared to professionals. She's polished and intentional but the jokes are lame and her delivery is too. Try Dave Chappelle's Sticks and Stones for something actually entertaining.

Her bizarre delivery doesn't get in the way of her excellent material Over and over she methodically pays off on seemingly dead set ups. And, she performs the last third of her set topless, baring her post-double-mastectomy chest. Obviously, it's a bold choice that challenges norms about body ideals and affronts traditionalists who think jokes should be told with a shirt on.
