Amy B I laughed SO HARD!!!! Very funny!!! Or whatever (shakes hand). Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/24 Full Review Isuzu B Comedy should involve humor, Tig's, jokes don't fail for the simply reason she doesn't say anything that could be considered a joke. Her monologue, reminds me of when I was a kid, and I would hear my mom rattle on the phone to one of her friends about the most inane things. Why would anybody wanna know every boring detail of your daily life? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review Audience Member She’s been funnier. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Finny M I love Tig and everything she does, but this special included stories I'd already heard before and (spoiler alert) the grand finale of this show is just her banging on a piano for 10 minutes telling us she can't play the piano. Seemed like she ran out of material and asked her kids to write the last 10 minutes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review shay s It's like most standup specials, a lot of tangential anecdotes. But of such relatable and universal experiences, I never would have thought I'd hear them put in such a funny way that it would hit so hard. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Michael Antony A Mikey's TV Review: Tig Notaro / Hello Again (2024) Tig Notaro begins her latest special with a tale involving a 911 call and being carried downstairs by a large moustachioed fireman. She might be a self described ‘old-fashioned lesbian', but it turns out she does have a type of man she finds attractive after all! "Oh…" she says, "I get it!" Tig's self-effacing humor delivered in a droll, deadpan monotone makes the simplest stories and observations utterly hilarious. She doesn't swear and she avoids controversial topics but somehow over the space of 60 minutes she is never less than engaging. Her gift for exaggerating the mundane and off-beat storytelling has always been exquisite. While she maintains such an easy going, relatable personality you can't help but want to be in her company. Notaro has also had such a messed up and complex medical history (a history which is often raided for comedy), but somehow still finds plenty of gold to mine. It's surprising that she has never fully broken out into the mainstream despite her brilliant semi-biographical series ‘One Mississippi', her wry podcast ‘Handsome', a terrific recurring cameo on ‘Star Trek: Discovery' and regular stand-up specials. Perhaps for the majority she's a touch too safe, but she's damn funny too. At times she calls to mind the scattershot, irreverent comedy of the late but still fabulous Victoria Wood, or Ellen Degeneres at her peak, but in truth there's no-one quite like her. Overall it's a solid special that will certainly please Notaro's followers, but likely won't bring any new fans to the table. Sean L. McCarthy Decider This hour delivers a few bangers, as well as a few B-sides and deep cuts. All in all, then, it’s classic Tig. Apr 3, 2024 Full Review Clare Martin Paste Magazine Notaro’s exquisite storytelling has always been her best strength, and it continues to be in this new special. It helps that she has such strange tales to tell, and her pacing and ease on stage heighten her set. Rated: 7.7/10 Mar 28, 2024 Full Review Kieran Burt Ready Steady Cut Jokes should be simple and easy to understand for a mass audience. Delivery should be loud, clear, and reasonably paced. Finally, the contents should be relatable on some level. Hello Again fails at all of these. Rated: 1.5/5 Mar 26, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
