S M @SusieMM 7h I got tricked into watching this movie by YouTube's description of it as "sci-fi." Instead, it was dreadful, simplistic Christian propaganda promoting a single-religion theocracy. It just kept getting worse and worse. The acting from the main character and the children was truly awful. There were many factual inaccuracies. All in all, half a star is generous. See more Stephen S @RT28591697 2d This movie makes people of our culture/society feel uncomfortable or awkward. It’s “cheesy” at times with varied or poor acting. But, honestly, it’s what helps the message of this movie hit so much harder. Makes me long for even the world I grew up in during the 70s and 80s. Our culture thinks we’re so much more enlightened or advanced… but we’re not. Even the changes since the 70s and 80s is vastly different. I saw it being an atheist a couple of years ago, and thought it was a good film, but it was not until I saw it for a second time having started on the Hindu path that I understood the message. He IS right! We DO need a reference, an authority. As much as I used to like philosophy and Nietzsche in particular, I now realise that the philosopher with the hammer, was not so right after all. If we do all create our own values, where will it all end...? And I have actually experience that it is easier to make the right decisions relying on the authority of God (whether we call him Krishna, Allah, God,...). I liked the puritan aspect of the film, but have come to value it even more since I have become religious myself, seeing how decadent society has become... See more Jay B @RT18046424 06/08/2025 This movie is one of the most thought provoking films I've ever seen. It also succeeds in giving honor to God! Though it was evidently a low budget movie, that low budget feel is one of its charms, and does nothing to hinder it's impact.
