nick s Some of the camera work was good and the soundscape wasn't half bad. But overall not a great movie. The storyline was the usual bunch of clichés for a cop movie... different departments clashing over a case, an unwanted rookie partner blah blah blah. The acting was very stilted from the get go with the opening scene feeling incredibly stagey. And it was exhausting to watch every character interaction being curt and antagonistic. I couldn't watch the whole movie but other reviews suggest it doesn't get any better. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/24 Full Review Adam I A turgid piece of sh_t. An hour and a half of clichés strung together leading to the painfully predictable pitiful ending. Even the obvious romantic coda made me want to puke (or at least go to sleep). Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Daphne M No, this is not Prime Suspect, the BBC police procedural that made now Dame Helen Mirren a household name and her DCI Jane Tennyson a feminist icon. I have been wishing for a version of Tennyson in an American police procedural for quite some time. The lead in Time of Death comes very close, however this is a Canadian production and for some inexplicable reason the sizzle is a bit muted even though the plot and storyline would make a decent enough episode of Law and Order: SVU. What gives? Well its all a little too indie film budget. The sexy couple have the sort of chemistry that I associate with cold dishwater. A plot that could have made a point by moving a little faster practically turns into murder as a paint by numbers exercise. My suggestion: find a way to spruce up the female lead. Focus on her empathetic connections and an often distracting desire to do real justice as opposed to ordinary law enforcement. Think Brenda Leigh Johnson from The Closer. There is no one like that on television these days. Revisiting the lead in this film could pay off... with some patience. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/30/23 Full Review Giovanni P It was a decent movie with good acting don't really understand the 1 star reviews it definitely wasn't a 1 or a 5 3 or 4 is what I was deciding on went with 4 because I liked the chemistry between lead actors Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely awful movie. Gave up after about 40 minutes of trash. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/20 Full Review Read all reviews
