05/06/2016 A teacher gets stabbed on New Year's Eve, 1983 and has a near death experience, in conjunction with a rookie detective in 2015 getting shot. They become bonded to one another, and dream about the other's life. The movie is slow to start, but what follows is a fresh take on the thriller genre. The police detective in present day can read cold case files and specific events, and it influences the teacher in the past. Together, they must join forces to stop a serial murderer, and that's just the beginning of it. The movie isn't boring, and if you can buy the fantasy aspect, its very similar in tone to The Phone (2016), another thriller that uses the past as a way give some protagonists a second chance. The thrills and twists are heavy, so its a solid thriller with a unique concept and nothing more. See more Read all reviews
