Audience Member One of the finest and most thought provoking Asian films ever. A very disturbing portrayal of the decaying fishermen community. Hits you really hard on the core... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member The narrative flow is quite odd, with characters appearing, disappearing, and reappearing very suddenly, and lots of unexpected time jumps. It can be tough to get your bearings. The acting isn't that good and I never really "got into" the film's story that much. But Ghatak's use of photography, sound and music is exquisite, the river metaphor works well, and the unusual structure, although occasionally confounding, is intriguing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow! Ghatak really came through with this film. Tremendously moving and poetic! The images in this one live with you forever!
