      Critics Consensus

To Kill a Mockingbird is a textbook example of a message movie done right -- sober-minded and earnest, but never letting its social conscience get in the way of gripping drama. Read critic reviews

To Kill a Mockingbird is an absolute classic and speaks a lot for what went down during its period it takes place. The performances are great and you learn some things from it.

"To Kill A Mocking Bird" is an amazing drama film of 1962. The plot to "To Kill A Mocking Bird" is about a man named "Atticus" portrayed by "Gregory Peck" who is a lawyer, which is currently defending a man named "Tom Robinson" portrayed by "Brock Peters". A woman named is accusing "Tom Robinson" of molesting and harming her. The movie is also about three children named "Jem Finch" portrayed by "Philip Alford", "Scout Finch" portrayed by "Mary Badham" and "Dill Harris "portrayed by "John Megna" who are attacked by their suspicious neighbour "Boo Radley" portrayed by "Robert Duvall". The very first scene of the movie is good; the movie does as it is supposed to and introduces the audience to the movie's actors. The half an hour courtroom scene is amazing; it's such an exciting scene to watch. The movie's climax is great; the final scene of the movie is a nice and sweet ending to this stunning movie. The Acting in this movie is superb "Gregory Peck" as "Atticus" is just an incredible actor. The music in this movie is stunning; one of the last scenes of the movie has some of cinema's most suspenseful music. "Elmer Bernstein" "To Kill A Mocking Bird's" music composer did a splendid job for composing the movie's music. The drama in this movie was handled very well; "To Kill A Mocking Bird" could've easily been a movie with a two-hour courtroom scene. "Robert Mulligan" The director of "To Kill A Mocking Bird" filmed the movie beautifully; in every shot he captured everything. If you are a person who has read the book then I highly recommend you watch "To Kill A Mocking Bird" as it has amazing acting, stunning visuals and thrilling music. Although the movie has some issues one being nothing happening with then two kids, more lead up to the courtroom scene and nothing really explained about the neighbour. I give "To Kill A Mocking Bird" a 9/10.

A topnotch adaptation of a timeless literary classic. The courtroom scene was outstanding. It seemed that the content of the book was magically transformed into a motion picture. Nelle Harper Lee herself loved the film, so why shouldn't I?
