Maggie Lee Variety For all the film's upbeat, motivational feel, the three protags' conflict between camaraderie and personal glory comes off as formulaic. Aug 6, 2015 Full Review Jocelyn Lee The New Paper (Singapore) It starts off with a lot of potential, as director Dante Lam pumps up the adrenaline with fast-paced action through winding and dangerous routes all over the world, keeping audiences at the edge of their seats. Rated: 4/5 Sep 20, 2017 Full Review Yip Wai Yee The Straits Times (Singapore) It is all geeky, technical stuff, but Lam manages to keep the races exciting enough by changing things up often, putting the cyclists through various terrains and weather conditions Rated: 3/5 May 25, 2016 Full Review Edmund Lee South China Morning Post A hot-blooded movie with a sophisticated view of the high-pressure pursuits of pro riders. Audience Member Taiwan is very beautiful <3 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member More than a youth encourage film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member "To the Fore" has beautiful scenery and a roster of popular actors. It has heartwarming friendships, overcoming personal barriers, the grit and intensity of any sports competition, and the humor of romantic comedies. However, it does none of these particularly well. In the end it tries to be too many things, making it a long, rather simple feel-good movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member C+(78%) movie. DVD. ????????????????????????????????????????? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review john l An OK film with a decent four hand plot involving four cyclists. It centers around the conflict of a highly competitive and demanding sport, especially for those aspiring to it professionally, and their romantic love interests. Those wanting to rise to the pinnacle of the sport must be willing to sacrifice everything else in their personal lives to achieve it. Won't be a film of universal interest as there are many scenes of competitive road and criterium cycling (unlike other films it's very realistically portrayed) that surround the romance part of the story. Viewers have to be willing to accept this as a competitive sports oriented movie that explores the cost top tier world class athletes often must pay in their personal lives to reach the top of the podium. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The best thing in this movie is that the biggest rival is not evil. BTW, beautiful Taiwan, and beautiful Kaohsiung!!
