Audience Member The strangest film version of this story I have seen. It's not particularly well-made, and the acting is poor. This adaptation falls short of truly capturing Mark Twain's work, and I wouldn't recommend it. (First and only viewing - 6/16/2019) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/04/19 Full Review Audience Member Despite being a little lackluster in story, this is a very decent version of the Mark Twain classic. I liked Jake's portrayal of Huck, but considering his strong Latin heritage, I'm not sure if it was appropriate for him to be cast as a Southerner, but I liked him anyway and though it was weird hearing him talk with a Southern-accent, since in Wizards Of Waverly Place he has a New Yorker accent, he did a good job. Christian Slater's portrayal of Mark Twain himself was unnecessary and lackluster. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but this tale has been transformed into a movie before and with greater success. Overall the different scenes give little build up and a rather dull representation. Also, this movie has narration at parts by someone playing Mark Twain. This idea in itself wasn't particularly good, but the execution likely has Twain rolling in his grave. They really should have cut those scenes out. It only takes away from the movie.
