Somewhat staid yet ultimately rather charming, Tommy's Honour opens a well-acted window into professional golf's formative years.

isla s This is an interesting story, with interesting characters and it makes for a good period drama. The family aspect particularly interested me. Suffice to say, if your interested in the history of golf esp. golf in Scotland and the UK, then I'd recommend it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this true story about Tommy Morris senior & junior in Scotland and the mark that they left on the game as innovators of the sport plus the legacy that they left to this day. Wenlei Ma News.com.au If you're not mad about plaid shorts, Tommy's Honour is unlikely to grab your attention, at first. But if you give it chance, there's an affable movie about an inspiring young pioneer. Rated: 3/5 Sep 13, 2017 Full Review David Stratton The Australian Peter Mullan is always an actor worth watching, even if you can't always comprehend what he's saying thanks to that thick Scots accent. Rated: 3/5 Sep 8, 2017 Full Review Edward Porter Times (UK) Golf buffs might appreciate its recreation of the sport in the late 19th century, but to love the film unreservedly, you'll need an appetite for the cinematic equivalent of treacle-topped porridge. Rated: 2/5 Jul 11, 2017 Full Review Andrew Gaudion THN Yes, this film is very much more for avid fans of golf and those who adore its long and varied history, but Tommy's Honour certainly has enough heart in it to engage with those who have little time for golf. Rated: 3/5 Aug 30, 2020 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Tommy's Honour is that rare sports film that fully captures the passion and emotional connection that some players have to their chosen pursuit. May 6, 2020 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Historical sports drama has some mature themes. Rated: 3/5 Feb 21, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
