Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald The tone is not permitted to become too serious and the feelgood ending is never in doubt. We can also be assured that Blair is going to harness all of the Territory's most spectacular features and show them at their most beguiling. Rated: 3.5/5 May 2, 2019 Full Review Luke Buckmaster Guardian Blair's direction demonstrates significant comedic flair - there are many laugh-out-loud moments - even if the script's scruffy elements cramp his style a little. Rated: 3/5 Apr 8, 2019 Full Review Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net A rom-com win that will leave you cheering. Rated: 8/10 May 26, 2021 Full Review Natasha Alvar The Critical Movie Critics ...Top End Wedding is such a welcome breath of fresh air - it tells a love story in a genuinely moving way, with the recognition that weddings aren't about the wedding dress or how good the hors d'oeuvres are. Mar 22, 2021 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The performances were solid, the picturesque location shots were awesome and the story had enough laugh-out-loud comedy to make it pleasing. Helen P A truly funny ride that reads so distinctly Australian (specifically showcasing of Indigenous cultures which is touching and sensitive) with a genuine, beautiful exploration of love, connection to family and heritage tied up neatly within it. Love stories are nothing new, but this one is told with such deft nuance that renders it a clear standout in the modern rom-com genre. Put simply, I cannot express how happy this movie made me - the performances were charming and well rounded; a new favourite! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/22/22 Full Review Audience Member Cracking little Indi Rom-com. Shame this didn't get the push that ‘My big fat Greek Wedding' got for its Writer/Star. Miranda Tapsell deserves far more credit. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A little bit cheesy, and yet not! -It's a lot of fun, and not without its serious side, too. Some parts are absolutely & subliminally superb, whereas one or two bits were a bit ordinary. In any case, well worth watching at least once, and probably yet again some time later, too. -I am looking forward to it! TOP End. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Simple yet powerful. One of the best chillied movies I have ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Lib R Wonderful. Lots of great stars, plenty of humour and drama. Captured the different characters. Stunning images of the best the Top End has to offer. Looked like a tourism promotion. I'll probably watch it again. Ranks up there with The Castle as an iconic Aussie film without overplaying the Aussie stereotypes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/20 Full Review ka m Wow, a well received RomCom?!?? Same formula as the rest in this genre. I could write the exact same review for all RomComs. Most are pretty good feel good movies about finding your soul mate and they are easy on the mind; minimal focus required. This was a nice change, being from Australia, and it had a couple of educational touches for an unfamiliar part of the world. The cast were very good and made the characters quite believable. I don't see this much harmony in Australian culture, do it was nice to get a pocket of it so realistically delivered. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
