Far from the worst of the overpopulated-biopic genre, a decent if long uneven watch when translated to the big screen.

A respectable two-part television movie. Well enough made and well performed, but without subtlety - or much grit.
There's a much more stirring movie to be made here.

Very interesting movie. This is a biopic about Toussaint Louverture, Haitian slave that gained his freedom and fought against the French army during a period between Louis XVI and Napoleon Bonaparte. Good cast, film close to the real History, despite some moments that felt to me like an "amateur" work. This could be the "Black" Braveheart with more psychology than action.
