Sure, there's potential for pleasure in an old story done right, but Travolta croaking out a Southern accent as he overplays his outbursts and emotional reconciliations doesn't qualify.

TRADING PAINT is overall pretty predicable (as usual in these direct to videos films), but fun is to be had with Trading Paint, it's engaging enough, Travolta (all I need in a film) and overall it's just fun. I found the aesthetic of the small town very comforting, Kevin Dunn and Travolta have a nice relationship on-screen. It's not perfect though, the acting from the extras and side cast are poor, it's very predictable and the writing material is basic. It doesn't outstay it's welcome so it makes it a short but fun flick.

Might be the dumbest plot in movie history, but at least Travolta is ass off as always.

I thought it was good overall as it was a racing movie with Travolta & Shania Twain as the main celebrities plus the story was interesting. It just felt sluggish in places and not as exciting as it could have been
