Audience Member On paper, the concept of involving "40 filmmakers from 25 different countries to participate exclusively online via collaborative filmmaking" sounds intriguing enough. With just a basic premise alongside two major themes about making choices and taking chances, imagine all the creative possibilities that 40 filmmakers can bring to pick up and move the narrative forward. Best of all, this is the kind of experimental movie where filmmakers are allowed to explore various shifting tones and genres ranging from drama to comedy, and even to thriller to surrealistic fantasy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It's difficult to know where to start to review this amazing piece of film-making. Certainly it's unique - a film made by 40 directors on every continent (except Antarctica) and apparently they never even met one another, surely cannot have any coherence. A film where the same main character is portrayed by dozens of different actors, changing age and sex from one or part of a scene to another, and in many different languages, must surely be confusing - but these guys pulled it off! The end result is a crazy mixed up journey of choices and actions that is surprisingly charming and easy to follow once it clicks what is happening. It seems like it will all be random but there are 2 explanations of this character's journeying - one practical but mysterious, and the other deep and philosophical and thought provoking - in fact the film is so intriguing that it's one of those rare films that you must watch more than once.Although it is the story or stories of just one character, the co-written script, being a combination of the creativity of dozens of different film makers and different cultures, covers so many genres and styles and emotions and actions that on occasion it takes your breath away. Of course no film is perfect and it's not without it's flaws, but these are minor compared to the immensity and ambition of the project. I don't know what the budget was for this film, but any single director / producer atempting to make it would have to spend a significant and prohibitively vast amount - this is another reason why you will probably never see another film like it and a truly unique and amazing achievement. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Very cool concept and really really well executed. This could have easily gone terrible, but the filmmakers all did a fantastic job in showing their own styles but also making it cohesive. Bravo bravo bravo. I'd recommend it for sure. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Just saw it on Amazon. Great movie! You'll never guess all the twists, in the plot and in the visuals. I love the multiple cast idea! Great way of mixing things up. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Just a fantastic film. Deserves to be seen again and again. Its a start of a new genre in cinema. Multiple directors from different parts of the world telling a single story in a unique way. A must watch for film lovers. Train Station is a surreal and unique journey of a single character who is never called by a name in the film, he is dressed in brown and that is how you know it's the same character changing as the demography of the story changes. The film is about the journey this character takes that starts from the 'train station'. This also has some very beautiful seamless transition in editing. Even though the main character changes its sex, age, country, the story still feels a single unit because of its editing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Innovative and entertaining, this film rocks. It keeps you engaged, as the pace, the scenery, and the actors are constantly changing, though the story is consistent and well-told. Just when you think you know where the story is heading, it goes in the opposite direction, then back to the opposite of the opposite direction. It's funny, sad, freaky, it has a bit of a lot. The diversity of the filmmakers and styles makes this film worth watching. I look forward to future CollabFeature projects. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
