Thom G If you're in the mood for a Friday popcorn night with a 80's sci-fi flick that doesn't demand too much from the plot but promises an entertaining ride, Trancers is a perfect pick! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Keven S It's a cheesy 1980's man movie, watch it even if only ironically! A very sexy and young Hellen Hunt does not let you down! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review g j classic 80's b-movie cheese. Delivers exactly what it says on the tin. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/23 Full Review David W Always had a soft spot for this hugely entertaining slice of low budget sci-fi. Tim Thomerson is superb as Jack Deth who's performance largely carries the movie and papers over the budgetary cracks. Helen Hunt's before they were famous performance shows why she went on to become a star. There's some decent (for the time and ultra low budget) special effects, a witty script with some memorable lines (delivered with great applom and timing by Thomerson) and a nice touch of 80's humour. I've watched this lots of times over the years and it always puts a big smile on my face. It's obviously 'inspired' by the likes of Terminator and Blade Runner but it stands on its own enough to be considered a bit of a low budget, minor sci-fi classic in my book. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Alexander B It steals a lot from the terminator and Blade Runner. But lacks a lot of the same quality. It fits into a so bad it's good category because it's funny but not always intentionally. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/23/23 Full Review Chris M Trancers feels like a TV pilot. Include some subplots to add length and depth to the story. Oh, man, I used to hang around the Sci-Fi aisle at the video store looking for cheap, poorly done B movies. I love them! And although Trancers isn't a great movie and is a little slow, I found a really good, bad movie here. Released in 19894, Trancers is directed by Charles Band and starring Tim Thomerson and a young Helen Hunt. It's an action/Sci-Fi movie, buuuuuut…. The action a pretty dull and silly. Especially in the beginning. You can read my full review here https://themoviemann.com/trancers-movie-review/ Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/18/22 Full Review Read all reviews
