Dennis Harvey Variety It's no Cape Fear, but it gets the job done with a certain bloody efficiency. May 8, 2012 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard Not particularly original but efficient. Rated: 2/5 Apr 20, 2012 Full Review Catherine Shoard Guardian Transit delivers little of value, and never with a smile. Rated: 2/5 Apr 19, 2012 Full Review Ivan Radford CineVue When it goes off-road, it skids out of control, but Negret never takes his foot off the accelerator -- the 84 minutes are over before you know it. Rated: 3/5 Jan 8, 2019 Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com A ridiculous movie, abandoning logic immediately upon commencement, yet its dedication to pace and intensity is charming and frequently effective. Rated: B- May 10, 2012 Full Review MaryAnn Johanson Flick Filosopher Director Antonio Negret apparently strove to ensure that his film looks cheap, but that would be forgivable if Michael Gilvary's script wasn't so desperately stupid when it isn't psychologically risible. Georgan G If all you seek is one long, bloody, violent film, this is for you. If, however, you also need some sort of plot that makes sense, go elsewhere. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review Ronald H Transit is a pedal-to-the-medal action flick combined with a family drama. It's absurd and implausible, but that's what we expect from B thrillers. The story is full of twists and turns, some of which are pretty clever. The problem with this film is not so much in the script; it's in the execution. Nate (Jim Caviezel) is enroute to a camping vacation in Louisiana with his wife and two sons. At the same time, four bank robbers have heisted $4 million in Baton Rouge and are on their way to meet a boat when they reach the Gulf of Mexico. Problem is, the cops have set up roadblocks, and the robbers need to temporarily leave the loot somewhere. The opportunity presents itself at a rest stop. While Nate and his family are inside getting drinks, the robbers stash the bag of money on top of their vehicle along with their camping gear. Their idea is to follow the family until they're clear of the cops, run them off the road, grab the bag of cash, and be on their way. It's a pretty good story idea. But the fast scene cuts and jittery camera work are disorienting and confusing. Why do directors do this? I suppose they think it's artistic. It's not. It's self indulgent. For God's sake, directors, tell the story and quit showing off your so-called skills in the editing room. This is movie that wears it's B movie status like a badge of honor, which I found amusing. Too bad the director is so busy showing off. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Jelisije J Its an ok ridiculous action flick that pits a family against a group of thieves searching for the missing money that the thieves hid in the family camping car. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review corkball Better than it seems from the trailers. A kind of low-rent Deliverance, set in Louisiana, but dispensing with all the redneck Cajun tropes, even though they are lying around begging to be used. The screenwriters and director nicely sidestepped a lot of what you would expect to happen in this film, even if the inevitable shoot em up at the end happens anyway. Not to say this movie is perfect, and the characters still make poor, irrational choices, but they DO make sense, and Caviezel is not the lone hero here - his family gets to kick butt too. The title is horrible. I couldn't remember it the next day. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It's not possible to know that EliZabeth Rohm is a lesbian and suspend disbelief to see her as herero wife. No actors on earth are going to be able to,have it both ways. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
