Dec 9, 2024 Full Review Radhika Menon Decider The central performances are not to be missed and the story is a feel-good narrative. Dec 4, 2024 Full Review Jason Flatt But Why Tho? A Geek Community No matter how many strange twists or turns the movie takes, Transmitzvah is a coming-of-age journey well worth taking. Rated: 7/10 Nov 23, 2024 Full Review Gary M. Kramer Philadelphia Gay News Burman’s film is at its best when depicting Mumy’s efforts to become a Bat Mitzvah, in part because it depicts the renewed relationship between the adult siblings. Nov 22, 2024 Full Review Paula Vázquez Prieto La Nación (Argentina) Guerrero and Minujín slickly work as a duo, skillfully balancing the emotion of the reunion with the ironic commentary on the vagaries of destiny. Joseph C What a waste of 2 hours , bad script, tasteless acting, worse script... Stay away! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review Melissa K I was feeling like watching something different and refreshing…and this movie delivered. I watched dubbed and with subtitles in English. I enjoyed how it explored both the traditional religious views of gender and difficulties of being true to one’s self… I love how the singing was knitted in to the story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/28/24 Full Review Angel C The premise is such a beautiful one but the acting choices are painful to watch, especially with the lead actor Penelope Guerrero. I don't know if it was a choice made by the actor or the director, but it was the wrong one. The character of Mumy is played with such woodeness and lack of emotion, no matter how hard you look for it. The transitions do not flow together and seem amateurish.
