TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 2d Trespass is one of those thrillers that is far better than people give it credit for. It is not a perfect movie, but it is a very watchable and tense home invasion story that keeps your attention from beginning to end. What really works is how simple the story stays, allowing the suspense to build without becoming too confusing or overly complicated. The screenplay does have issues, especially in moments where it feels too tight and overworked, and there are definitely scenes that could have been written with a little more polish and restraint. Still, Nicole Kidman gives a strong performance as a woman who is more than just a victim, and Nicolas Cage brings a nervous energy that helps keep the film alive. Their performances hold the story together, and even when the writing stumbles, the movie remains engaging. It may not be a classic, but Trespass is a solid, underrated thriller worth watching. The sprinkling of film noirs and film blancs kept the movie interesting. I will say the flashbacks almost hit Ghost Of Mars levels. CT5 Worst Criminals tho. Nic Cage gave a solid performance Kidman hit her stride eventually. I personally don't get the negative reviews. Security systems conveniently fail and the police just don't seem to exist. Some interesting elements to the plot, but the film is ultimately unrealistic, contrived, and frustrating to watch. But this story was just awful, and all of them were so unlikeable. Terrible movie - possibly the worst I've seen in my life. And I'm not a spring chicken! Would give zero stars if that was an option.
