In the harrowing confines of Auschwitz's starvation cell, Catholic priest St. Maximilian Kolbe volunteers to die in place of another prisoner, joining nine others condemned by the Nazis. As despair and fear grip the group, the pressures of starvation, internal ideological division, mount. But throughout, Kolbe's appeal to their shared humanity and Polish identity forges a brotherhood that culminates in a poignant act of sacrifice that echoes beyond the cell, illuminating hope in one of history's darkest moments.

Triumph of the Heart has troubling issues. Its dialogue edges toward being overly polished; the language is more refined than the raw emotion it needs to convey. Go to Full Review

After seeing many films about the Holocaust, some stand out. It’s not because they answer how such evil could occur, but because they bring out the humanity of its victims. Anthony D’Ambrosio has succeeded in doing just that in TRIUMPH OF THE HEART. Go to Full Review

It's a bit too long, but this drama is still a touching tribute to the life, sacrifice, and martyrdom of Maximilian Kolbe. Go to Full Review

The film isn’t aiming for an horrific effect, there’s no need. The miracle is that the prisoners’ spirit, power and the hope rise up. Really uplifting stuff especially for these bruising times. Go to Full Review

Intense time inside Auschwitz with a cross-section of nine Polish political prisoners and a saint starving in a cellar in early 1941. Ensemble acting is powerful, but bombastic religiosity ramps up with overpowering choruses. Go to Full Review

Sophia Oct 2 Triumph of the Heart was an excellent portrayal of St. Maximilian Kolbe's faith leading the men in his cell to Jesus and Mother Mary in thier final days. It had elements of, or an homage to, the 12 Angry Men movie. Very spiritually impactful and pulls the heart strings in all the right ways. See more Mi. Sep 29 Phenomenal acting by the actors who played Fritzsch and Albert. The beauty of the inmates change of heart under the care of St Maximilian Kolbe was well depicted but the sanitized depiction of their physical condition and environment did not lend much credibility to the true horror of what these men mustve experienced. Overall a great film well worth seeing. See more Diego Sep 29 Amazing and powerful movie depicting the life of Saint Maximilian Kolbe! Would highly recommend to all!
