Audience Member This turned out to be a wonderful movie to watch on St, Patrick's Day. Historically it provides a balanced view of the struggle between the Protestant English landowners and the poor Catholics majority in Ireland from about 1918 to 1923 The story is seen through the eyes of Major Brendan Archer, an English Army officer returning to Ireland after WWI. He hopes to rekindle a romance with Angela Spencer but soon falls for an outspoken Catholic girl named Sarah Devlin. But Sarah is a mystery woman who seems to romantically involved with numerous men representing all the warring factions. Her motives are never fully explained, but one grows to care about all the characters in this well-told tale. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
