Jason Bailey Flavorwire It's an inspiring yet imperfect film - but the fictionalized version would make a helluva TV procedural. May 5, 2017 Full Review Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act True Conviction is powerful and devastating. It's a film about the injustices in our judicial system and the lack of compassion that we have for one another. Apr 23, 2017 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com An immensely involving film. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Sep 26, 2020 Full Review Christopher Llewellyn Reed Hammer to Nail A harrowing, vital movie, True Conviction will make you rethink all your assumptions of law and order. May 10, 2018 Full Review Nick Rogers Midwest Film Journal So eager to carve out a piece of the profitable true-crime pie that it slides a serving fork under the crust altogether - all topping, no foundation. It too often buries human foibles and social commentary under forced storytelling artifice. Rated: 2/5 Oct 12, 2017 Full Review John Fink The Film Stage This is an illuminating documentary highlighting the importance of this work: digging in and asking the tough questions that prosecutors and detectives looking to make a quick arrest simply do not. Audience Member The topic is important, and holds significance for so many people. The documentary follows the 'investigators', but it feels like a lot of the interviews are somehow not as 'real' or revealing as they might have been if it weren't for the documentary cameras recording them. Although there's no real feeling of attachment to or warmth towards the team, what they say, and how they interact with convicts is emotional and real Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
