Surrounded by the family business of porn, Alec encounters a radically different understanding of intimacy when he meets Nina. ...the film comes across as somewhat clumsy, chaotic, and superficial in some parts, but it is the innocent, tender, and sensitive relationship that gradually develops between Alec and Nina...that sustains and redeems Truly Naked. [Full review in Spanish]

Truly Naked feels far too overrated to me. The explicit scenes often seem more provocative than meaningful, while its potentially deeper themes about porn, intimacy and relationships are barely explored. Interesting premise, but the execution feels shallow and underwhelming. Feet like a po*n film for amateurs. Skip this one for good.

"Truly Naked" uses a provocative premise to explore isolation, perception, and the blurred line between work and personal life. Caolán O’Gorman gives a restrained and convincing performance as a teenager struggling to understand the world behind the camera. The film’s strongest moments come from its thoughtful contrast between Nina’s perspective and Lizzy’s lived experience. Its visual language effectively uses the camera as a symbol of how people can become objects rather than individuals. However, the final act becomes more direct and loses some of the complexity established earlier. An intriguing and unconventional drama that uses its controversial subject to deliver a surprisingly human story about empathy and identity.

Skins meets Trainspotting for the Only Fans generation, enjoy! An original, shocking, heart warming and absolutely human story set in a world most engage with and few think carefully about. Easy to relate to in ways totally un-relatable, the characters and relationships between them shine through, supported by the kind of working-class-English grittiness that has underpinned so many other excellent and edgy dramas.
