Director David Schwimmer gets some gut-wrenching performances out of his actors but he still lacks the chops to fully ratchet up story tension.

AFAN O A hard to watch film about a sexual predator who assaults a teenager. The father and the daughter give extremely powerful performances through out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/22/22 Full Review Audience Member It's a curious case of a serious filmmaker being tasked with making a feature film that almost seems to serve as a long narrative-based educational video about the real dangers of the internet. In other words, it's the most cinematic and well-acted PSA-feature film hybrid of all time. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Very Lifetime-ish only with multiple big names, it does make some strides to shake that feel but not by much. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review daniel n Superb acting and an eye-opener for anyone not having the full awareness of the subtle and devious activities that is grooming. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Felt like watching a high-class Lifetime movie. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've seen similar stories in Lifetime movies, but the cast elevates it so much. Liana Liberato especially gives an excellent true-to-life performance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Liam D A movie that everyone should watch this Drama is a fantastic movie that is not for the faint of heart but it's an emotional movie that touches on a serious issue that is still going on. Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard Even if it's a mite clunky, Trust does a decent job and avoids the regulation happy ending. Rated: 3/5 Jul 8, 2011 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian The whole section of the plot dealing with Will's shame and rage at failing to protect his child is hammily and unconvincingly acted. Rated: 2/5 Jul 7, 2011 Full Review Nigel Andrews Financial Times Liana Liberato is superb as the girl sinking by slow degrees into the "trust" of the title. Rated: 4/5 Jul 7, 2011 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies A bold and unflinching look at sexual abuse. Rated: 4.5/5 Aug 27, 2022 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Empowering and enlightening. Trust is a film that every parent and teen should see - together. Nov 16, 2019 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X It is also moving, thoughtful and a lot more insightful than most of the dramas dealing with the issues it tackles.
