Between meeting with the Rabbi, funeral preparations, and sitting shiva, Kate has no time to process Mom's absence. In fact, Kate's not sure if she's crying because Mom's dead, or because she's related to these freaks: an adulterous father, Damien, and a histrionic sister, Trini. Kate finds an ally in her brother, Josh, who spearheads funeral arrangements. Mom did her best to outline everything specifically. But Damien never signed off on the paperwork prior to their divorce.

Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News The cast is first-rate in this gutsy indie with a strong message about how it sometimes is best to uproot from a dysfunctional family tree in order to maintain your own sanity. Brian M One of the best indie films I've ever seen. Making movies is about making your audience feel, and this movie does that in spades. Incredible performances, writing, and below the line come together to form the liberating journey of a college student learning how to set boundaries from the toxic people, both beloved and not, in her life. A relatable message for young audiences. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Bill L Trust is an emotionally compelling film that uses both drama and comedy to keep the audience engaged. My favorite part was watching the characters respond to the death of a loved one, following the emotional rollercoaster that ripples through their family. The film represents many of the pressing issues within society and exposes the pitfalls of generational wealth. Would highly recommend!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/04/24 Full Review Jacob H From the writing, to the performances, all the way down to the editing and everything else, this film was made with so much care and attention. My hat's off to the entire team for their collective efforts. Bravo. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/01/24 Full Review Ijaaz N Sharp direction and great performers anchor this story of an extremely relatable dysfunctional family! An impressive debut feature, very excited for what everyone does next. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Stephen M Was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this film -- an impressive family drama with high production value that hit much deeper than I initially expected. Deft, subtle direction by Almog Avidan Avenir grounds what's clearly a personal story by Jennifer Levinson about grief, guilt, and knowing when to let go. The ending challenged conventions in a way I wish more films would do. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review D.S P This film captivates with its profound emotional depth, weaving a tapestry of authenticity and relatability that resonated with me on a visceral level. The characters are exquisitely crafted, evolving in rich complexity throughout the narrative, while the script radiates with a palpable sense of intimacy and personal investment from the filmmakers. In every frame, this film breathes life into universal themes, leaving an indelible mark on the soul of cinema. Truly, an exceptional work of artistry.
