Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com This movie is certifiably insane, that's a given, but it's also extremely witty, has far more intelligence than you might originally expect and has a grand time exploding clichés and playing with an audience's expectations. Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 27, 2012 Full Review Ben Sachs Chicago Reader Here's something you don't see every day: a genial, politically correct splatter comedy. Jan 4, 2012 Full Review Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com Clever horror/comedy hybrid of the kind that Sam Raimi used to make and that so many have tried to produce in recent years but have fallen remarkably flat. There's nothing flat about this clever genre flick. For the right audience, it's pretty great. Rated: 4.0/5.0 Oct 7, 2011 Full Review Chase Hutchinson The Inlander (Spokane, WA) A delightful buddy comedy that doesn’t skimp on blood when all the horror shenanigans take hold, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil remains an all-time cult movie worth pledging your soul to. Bursting with silly gags and gory kills, it remains a horror lover’s dream. Oct 11, 2025 Full Review David Day Horror Movie Talk The dry wit and laugh out loud moments in this movie are a ton of fun and often the result of totally shocking and unexpected misunderstandings or accidents. The characters are completely wonderful and easy to fall in love with. Rated: 7/10 Sep 23, 2025 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh A simple, clever premise that fully pays off exactly how you'd hope it could, thanks to the charm and chemistry between the two leads. Jack F Really unique movie. I laughed sooo hard at that one part with the bees. I'd watch it again. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/25 Full Review Wayne K Funny if you’re not a fan of horror films and downright hilarious if you are, Tucker & Dale Vs Evil delights in parodying the silly tropes and cliches that the genre has been built on, but have dragged it down into creative and emotional inertia. The best moments are those that look like they’re right out of a slasher flick, like a character running round wildly swinging a chainsaw, but putting a comic spin on it and playing it dead straight. It puts a great twist on what I can guess can be called the ‘savage redneck’ trope, popularised by films like Deliverance and Wrong Turn, where now the big city folk are the perpetrators and antagonists and the country folk are the victims, but the film is smart enough not to make the latter as dumb as they’re portrayed when they’re the villains. The gags might not hit every time, but the script knows when a moment needs to be taken seriously or left to sit. It’s a horror comedy that skews very much towards the latter, and it’s appeal very much lies in the fact that it’s a movie you can watch anywhere, anytime with anybody and you’ll get a lot of laughs out of it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/17/25 Full Review Dan G If you need a off the wall recommendation this is it. This is so funny. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/16/25 Full Review leonidas L. The one thing I need in a movie is straight comedy and Gore and this is what this movie gives you, easy five stars Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/12/25 Full Review Jeff F Worst vacation ever. Best comedy of this genre ever. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/06/25 Full Review Ethan 1. The first time I watched this movie I had no idea what I was getting into. I don’t normally like horror movies and didn’t see the genre so was unaware but decided to watch this one anyways and ended up being stained in my memory. Upon rewatch nearly 15 years later it doesn’t disappoint, truly a classic and a classic it feels like a lot of people miss out on. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/02/25 Full Review Read all reviews
